If you cannot pay your outstanding fines, you may be considered for the Fines Options Program (FOP). The FOP is a program in which you perform community service in lieu of paying fines and court costs. You must file the request to enter the Fines Options Program with the Clerk's Office.
The community service hours are credited to your fines and costs at the rate of $15 per hour.
To receive credit for hours performed as community service, the service shall be performed at a recognized charitable organization or at a government facility, such as a library, park, or recreation center.
If you are interested in the FOP, please contact the Clerk's Office, GDC Payments Division, in person in room 106 or by emailing GDCMail@fairfaxcounty.gov. The request for FOP document needs to be completed, signed, and submitted to the Court.
